Nikon Coolpix P7100 Review The Nikon Coolpix P7100 (9.95) is one of those cameras that will send the average consumer running for the hills because this badass has more controls, dials, bells and whistles than R2-D2. On the other hand, the Nikon Coolpix P7100 will turn an advanced photographer into a bottle rocket of excitement, thanks to its arsenal of external and internal features. The Nikon Coolpix P7100 goes head to head with the Canon PowerShot G12, though I do believe Nikon has surpassed Canon this time around. The P7100 has a 10-megapixel 1/1.7-inch CCD, just like the Canon G12, though the P7100 benefits from faster EXPEED C2 processing this year. Canon did not release a follow-up to the G12, and I believe the P7100 is now stealing some of the limelight. The Sennheiser G2 wireless system I use right now works great and most of the time the two sets I use are plenty, but lately I've run into situations where it would be nice to have one or 2 extra for a second camera. So I started looking around on ebay for a set of used G2 Ew100′s in a different frequency. It seems that they've become so popular that the used price is almost the same as the new price. I was about to give up and order a new set from B&H when I came across the Samson Airline Micro wireless system. I vaguely remember hearing something about them last year, but I never actually followed up to see if they'd been released. I found a refurbished set on Amazon for 5 and thought I'd give them a try. Over All at a price of 0 to 0 I think the Samson Airline Micro Is a very good value. Even though the audio wasn't as clean and clear as the Sennheiser EW100 G2 unit I normally use, I don't feel like the difference was big enough for most people to really notice. I think most will forgive the slight difference in audio quality for a 0 savings over the Sennheiser G2. Pros: The compact size, protective case, UHF band, and price. Cons: No way to change out the battery, difficult to program, and the audio is a little muddy. Conclusion: If you listen to the audio tests and can't tell the difference then the Samson Airline Micro should make you very happy ...

It showed up on Thursday of last week and I spent most of my weekend playing around with and testing it. Will this replace a hardware follow focus? Probably not, but it does have some very handy features and paired with the right lens this could still make a very useful follow focus about 60% of the time. The unit also has a number of camera control options not found in any other controller on the market (unless you use your computer). The build quality is great, the battery life is great, and setup is simple enough.
