JPEG vs RAW

JPEG vs RAW Video Clips. Duration : 9.83 Mins.

photographyclassesatlanta.org - A Discussion About JPEG vs RAW What Is The Big Deal About JPEG or RAW? One of the first things you should do before you take the first picture is to select the right file format. If you are using a digital SLR, you will have more choices than if you are shooting with a more basic digital camera. The use of RAW formats has become much more widely accepted, however, there are still some photographers who do not know the difference between the two formats. And then there are those who know the difference and are strongly in favor of one or the other. The goal of this post is to explain the difference between JPEG and RAW in a way that makes sense. In fact, the video is probably the best way for you to learn about both RAW and JPEG. What is JPEG? JPEG (also known as JPG) is The Standard digital format for graphic images produced by a digital camera. The camera uses software to process a digital image in-camera and produce a usable file that can be printed or posted on the Web. The processing of the image in the camera results in a "lossy compression" that discards certain unnecessary picture information in order to produce a picture with good quality and a smaller file size. Most digital images that are printed or saved to the Internet on website like Facebook are JPEG images. What is RAW? RAW is a non-standard format used by digital cameras to record the picture information of an image file. It records all the information about a photograph ...

Buying Digital SLR Cameras

Buying Digital SLR Cameras Tube. Duration : 6.80 Mins.

What should you look for when buying digital slr cameras and photographic equipment. All major manufacturers make great quality cameras and they all take beautiful pictures - it's a matter of choosing the digital SLR camera that works best for YOU. All cameras take great images these days and i don't subscribe to one make being 'better' than the next. If you're serious about photography I suggest names like canon or Nikon because of the vast range of lenses and accessories available. However all the major brands make fantastic DSLR cameras which work equally well for all subjects. When buying one it's more important to find one that fits in your hand and is easy to get at the controls. When you've bought your shiny new DSLR camera the next step it to learn how to take great images. The camera can't do this for you just as a flashy expensive car can't drive for you! If you need a bit of help we have some great photography tutorial videos, DVDs and more for you at www.photographycourses.biz Mike Browne

Samson Airline Micro wireless UHF system Review - DSLR FILM NOOB

Samson Airline Micro wireless UHF system Review - DSLR FILM NOOB Tube. Duration : 6.85 Mins.

www.dslrfilmnoob.com I've come to the point where I need a few extra UHF wireless microphones systems around. The Sennheiser G2 wireless system I use right now works great and most of the time the two sets I use are plenty, but lately I've run into situations where it would be nice to have one or 2 extra for a second camera. So I started looking around on ebay for a set of used G2 Ew100′s in a different frequency. It seems that they've become so popular that the used price is almost the same as the new price. I was about to give up and order a new set from B&H when I came across the Samson Airline Micro wireless system. I vaguely remember hearing something about them last year, but I never actually followed up to see if they'd been released. I found a refurbished set on Amazon for 5 and thought I'd give them a try. Over All at a price of 0 to 0 I think the Samson Airline Micro Is a very good value. Even though the audio wasn't as clean and clear as the Sennheiser EW100 G2 unit I normally use, I don't feel like the difference was big enough for most people to really notice. I think most will forgive the slight difference in audio quality for a 0 savings over the Sennheiser G2. Pros: The compact size, protective case, UHF band, and price. Cons: No way to change out the battery, difficult to program, and the audio is a little muddy. Conclusion: If you listen to the audio tests and can't tell the difference then the Samson Airline Micro should make you very happy ...

Documentary Photographer Daniel Milnor Photography Tips and Advice

Documentary Photographer Daniel Milnor Photography Tips and Advice Tube. Duration : 9.98 Mins.

www.silberstudios.tv Documentary photographer Daniel Milnor joins us today on the Marc Silber show to talk about his approach to photography and the work he loves to do. He loves focusing on documentary work, especially long-term black and white documentary projects, both domestically and internationally. In the field, Dan uses a very stripped down system of equipment. He often works with a single camera and a lens and occasionally mixes cameras and formats only when he teaches. Typically, he advises against mixing formats, such as color and black & white photographs. You only have a split second to catch an image when analyzing a scene, and having too complex a set-up may cause you to miss the moment. Developing the idea of a project's story is crucial, so he always does his research beforehand. Nowadays, it is easy to do documentary work by going out into the field and winging it, but when you have a theme in mind, it's better to perform research for a more complete picture. BTW, a big thanks you to the folks at Calumet San Francisco for helping us out with the shoot. Thanks to WPO for their assistance with the interviews.
